In a company as technological as ours, innovation rules the roost. You may be working on something for a long time, when suddenly an update on a social network or a programming language comes along, to which you must react quickly and adapt if necessary. Those are just the rules of the game. For example, when developing software, you must stay a few steps ahead, which isn’t always easy. But when these changes occur, just keep calm and carry on!
That’s exactly what happened to us with APIs. As you may already know, the most popular social network in the world has been having problems with the data it offers certain companies. We went into further detail in one of our previous blog posts (read more here). Following this, as a precaution, several APIs have now been put on stand-by, despite many companies requiring access to get on with their work.
Fortunately, a decision we made in the past, in the interest of staying a few steps ahead, means that this hasn’t affected us in the slightest. Our technology, which measures influencer audiences, their KPIs and manages and analyses Influencer Marketing campaigns, doesn’t need APIs.
So, we decided to toot our own horns and hold an event to let the whole world know that you should #EatYourAPIs.
And since we want you to be a part of it, we’re going to give you all the details, so it’s almost like you were there yourself!
We made some pink sweets (our brand colour) with the word API in the middle and popped them inside a glass jar labelled “Eat your APIs” with the subtitle: ““API: Obsolete technology in Influencer Marketing / Influencity: a software which doesn’t need APIs to analyse Influencer Marketing campaigns”.
The jar came with a flyer which explained:
“We want everything that’s going on with one of the world’s biggest social networks regarding APIs to leave a pleasant taste in your mouth, just like us”.
You know that feeling of freedom?
Well, at Influencity, we have that feeling, thanks to the fact that we use our own technology, meaning we don’t rely on anyone or anything.
Taste the power of things being done right in Influencer Marketing and… Eat your APIs!
The best thing about this event was the positive responses we received from those we sent gifts to. Check them out on our social media accounts! Thanks everyone! Eat your APIs!
